Staff SRE · systems, infrastructure & AI
I’m a Staff Site Reliability Engineer based in Berlin, and I’ve been building software for more than 25 years. I started at e-Builders, a small company I ran with my dad, where I built an e-commerce site in ASP. Then I spent a few years at a CRM and advertising agency, building web systems and running their IT infrastructure. At NEC I wrote a Linux kernel driver for a PCI I/O board that emulated the Pertec tape protocol, so the old tape drives on digital telephone exchanges still running across Brazil could be replaced. Later I customized VoIP switching equipment in C++.
After that came J2EE systems wired into bank mainframes, several startups that I co-founded or ran tech for, and the last several years doing SRE in fintech and e-commerce: OLX, Trade Republic, Billie, and now Shopware.
This is where I write about what I learn along the way: reliability engineering, systems and software architecture, the production-grade homelab I run at home (Dell R630s with Tesla P4s, MAAS, MicroK8s, PowerDNS), and the infrastructure behind AI systems.

Things I'm building
- VexFS Rust
A Linux filesystem with built-in vector search, aimed at AI agent and RAG workloads.
- Chronik Stream Rust
A Kafka-compatible event platform that serves SQL, full-text and vector queries straight from the log.
- Moving Failures Around Python
Code and data for a paper on a small Gemma 4 coding agent: it acts on information it is shown, not on instructions to go find it.
- CrabInfer Rust
On-device LLM inference for iOS that keeps an eye on memory. Built on Candle and UniFFI.
- MAAS MCP Server Go
Lets AI assistants list, allocate and deploy physical servers through MAAS.
- linux-hardware Shell
A hands-on lab for the Linux diagnostic toolchain, from PCIe and IRQs to the network stack.
